Endeavour is proud to announce that it has been approved as a TSP for UnionPay International; Endeavour is now offering 3DSecure services to Merchants, Payment Providers or Acquiring Banks accepting online payments via UnionPay Credit Cards.
3DSecure 2 introduces four types of transactions for which an SCA Exemption can occur when conditions are met. These are Transaction Risk Analysis (TRA), Low Value Payments, Trusted Beneficiaries and Secure Corporate Payments.
SCA goes into affect early across some European countries.
Information Only Authentication is the perfect way to interact with the Issuer and influence the outcome of the Authorization when a direct Authentication with the Cardholder present is not possible.
Decoupled Authentication allows a merchant to send an authentication request to a cardholder who is not available online at the time.
Merchant Initiated Transactions are a whole class of Transactions dealing with cases where where the cardholder is not available for Authentication.
Under PSD2, strong customer authentication (SCA) is required on all payer-initiated transactions when both the card issuer and acquirer are within the EEA.
If only one of the two parties is within the EEA, SCA is not required but there may be consequences. This type of transaction where either the payee or payer is in a country outside the EEA, such as the US, is called a ‘One-Leg’ or 'one leg out' transaction.
Under the PSD2 directive, these transactions fall within scope.
Failed Authentication is about to become the main reason for failed transactions: When examining failed transactions the focus has always been on the Authorization Stage. What was the reason for the failed transaction ? Was it insufficient funds, was there a technical issue, did the card holder exceed his spending limits (often dictated by a need to limit possible fraud), was it the MCC code, did the Issuer decide it was not worth the risk ?
One of the milestones for 2020 will be the migration of 3DSecure Authentication to Version 2. Deadlines vary for different regions but cross border business will be impacted sooner than any regional requirements. We have been supporting integrations into version 2 for the last few months and we are seeing an upsurge in integrations now that we are in 2020.
